Bike Mechanic – J.Laverack Bicycles
Extraordinary bicycles are built by extraordinary people.
Every J.Laverack bicycle begins with someone trusting us to build the bicycle they’ve always imagined. Our responsibility is simple: to make sure reality exceeds that vision.
For over a decade, we’ve refined and developed our range of bespoke titanium bicycles, each one handcrafted to the highest standards of British design, engineering and craftsmanship.
As our reputation continues to grow around the world, we’re looking for a Bike Mechanic who shares our passion for precision, craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
Who we’re looking for
- You care about the details.
- You take pride in doing things properly.
- You’re naturally curious.
- You believe the smallest details are often the most important.
- And you understand that craftsmanship isn’t something you switch on.
Previous workshop experience is valuable, and a Cytech qualification is an advantage.
If you have the attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn, we’ll invest in helping you become one of the industry’s finest mechanics.
Built to the highest standards
Every bicycle that leaves our workshop represents months of anticipation for its owner.
It’s built for one person.
One vision.
One story.
Your role is to ensure every bicycle leaves exactly as it should.
You’ll inspect every frame and component before assembly, build complete bicycles and framesets to our exacting standards, prepare each build for delivery, service customer bicycles and support riders, dealers and suppliers with technical expertise.
You’ll also help manage workshop schedules, maintain stock levels and ensure the workshop operates to the same exceptional standards as the bicycles we create.
What you’ll achieve
You’ll develop into an industry-leading mechanic with exceptional attention to detail.
You’ll work alongside a small team that believes craftsmanship still matters.
You’ll build bicycles that customers will ride, remember and treasure for a lifetime.
And you’ll play a part in creating some of the world’s finest bespoke titanium bicycles.
What you’ll bring
Essential
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- Organised, methodical and reliable.
- Strong time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Confidence using email, Microsoft Office and database systems.
Desirable
- Cytech (or equivalent) qualification.
- Experience with hydraulic disc brakes, electronic and mechanical groupsets and tubeless systems.
- Wheel-building experience.
- Strong knowledge of premium bicycle components.
- Awareness of current products and industry trends.
The opportunity
There are thousands of mechanic jobs.
Very few give you the opportunity to build bicycles that become part of someone’s life.
If you’re passionate about cycling, driven by craftsmanship and want to spend every day becoming better at your craft, we’d love to hear from you.
