Our Inspiration
ABOUT THE
Contour
Buying a J.Laverack is more than buying a bike. Each bike is commissioned to your requirements and we employ a no compromise mantra to offer the best advice.

OUR Contour was inspired by the riding Oliver did as a youth. As a care-free young lad he would spend every moment riding with his friends exploring his local trails, tracks and quarries until the light would fade into darkness. Every chance to get out was a chance to explore and find a mini adventure. Later Oliver and David would spend every weekend riding with their local mountain bike group and its this mixed surface riding and the terrain that we have on our doorstep in Rutland that lead to the Contour, a fast cross country hardtail 29er.

The Contour has been a concept for longer than any other bike in our range and finally we are extremely proud to offer this beautifully crafted model to those who enjoy the same riding we do.
Many hands, many hours and many years of experience are employed in crafting each frame. Our ‘no compromise’ mantra means we will always recommend what we feel is best suited to you and your riding ambitions.
All frames are made to order and to suit the groupset, be that mechanical or electronic. This ensures the frame only has the holes it needs, keeping clean lines.

    The Metal with Mettle!

The word that best encapsulates the essential qualities of top riders and flawless bike frames is toughness. Aside from its unique aesthetics, no other frame material is as resilient nor as tough as titanium.
Titanium offers a great balance of properties that make it a perfect material for bicycle frames.
It’s lightweight, durable and can withstand a

lifetime of use whilst remaining corrosion free.
Large tube diameters allow titanium to be stiff where needed, yet the metal is naturally very good at delivering a smoother ride, especially over rough tracks and trails, so it’s perfect for long days in the saddle.
We use 3Al-2.5V titanium for the frame tubing, double butting where possible, and 6Al-4V is

chosen for the high stress areas which need to be stiffest and most resilient including the head tube, bottom bracket, dropouts and disc brake mount.
Aside from the material and ride benefits we just love the way titanium looks. J.Laverack frames aim to forge form and function to bring an unrivalled quality of ride and style to those that want more from their frame.
