TERMS & CONDITIONS

The arrival of your frame marks the start of your J.Laverack journey and whilst we’ll be wishing you bon voyage we recognise that you may need help or have new questions. We pride ourselves on our after sales service and all members of our team will be only too happy to help post purchase.

For questions regarding your J.Laverack frame, frameset or bicycle please contact us using [email protected].

Documentation: Your purchase agreement is made up of the following documents:

  1. Build Receipt: The ‘Build Receipt’ describes the bicycle or frame that you have commissioned and ordered. This receipt also details the deposit received by J.Laverack to start the build.
  2. Terms & Conditions: These Terms & Conditions are effective from the date that you place your order and make your deposit payment (the ‘Order Date’)

Agreement to Purchase: By ordering and paying (sending) a deposit payment (typically 50% of the total build or frame cost) you agree to purchase the bicycle or assembly of bicycle components (the Bicycle’) as described in your ‘Build Receipt’ from J.Laverack Bicycles Ltd (‘we’,’us’, ’our’) pursuant to the Terms and Conditions set out in this agreement.

Purchase Price, Taxes and Fees: The purchase price of the Bicycle as detailed on your build receipt is in GBP, and excludes any duties, fees or taxes that may apply in your home country if purchasing from outside of England.

Lead Times: At the point you pay a deposit for your J.Laverack frame or bicycle you will be advised on the current estimated lead time. Contact the team for an up to date estimate.

This estimate does not take into account unforeseen circumstances and is not guaranteed, however we always endeavour to deliver your frame or bicycle to you within the estimated lead time where possible.

If there are any delays we will make you aware at the earliest opportunity and suggest alternative options where appropriate.

Production process: Once we have received your deposit we begin work on your frame drawing based on the specification and options we have discussed and agreed with you in your ‘Build Receipt’. All frames are made specifically to your requirements taking into account the groupset you have chosen, making each frame unique to you.

Cancellation: Due to the unique and bespoke nature of our bicycles, deposits on frames and bicycles are non-refundable.

Changes to your order: Whilst it is sometimes possible to change some components during the manufacturing process, where compatibility allows, it is not possible to change the frame specification once production has started.

If you would like to make a change to your order, please notify us by email at [email protected] at the earliest opportunity and we will, where possible, make every effort to accommodate.

In the unlikely event that a component specified on your build receipt is unavailable or discontinued by a 3rd party supplier we will, where possible, offer a like for like alternative (and let you know of any cost implications) at no extra cost. Where a like for like alternative is not available we will make contact to discuss options and any additional costs.

Shipping: Bike builds and frameset orders are ‘collection only’ from our showroom in Oakham, England. A dedicated global courier service is available on request and can be arranged at an additional cost. Please contact [email protected] for further details.

Aftersales: In the unexpected event that you are not completely happy with your J.Laverack frame, frameset or bicycle or there is a fault, please contact us at [email protected]

Warranty: J.Laverack frames carry a 10 year warranty, from the date you receive the frame. This entitles the original owner to a repair or replacement frame should it fail due to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. A receipt or proof of purchase is required for any claim.

The following points are not covered by our warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by a crash, collision or due to abuse or misuse.
  • Frames that have been modified, neglected, used in competition or for commercial purposes.
  • Damage caused by improper installation of components, parts, or accessories that are not compatible with J.Laverack frames or lack of competence of the assembler.
  • Damage or deterioration of the surface finish, aesthetics, or appearance of the product including but not limited to paint damage.

If a frame or fork are altered in any way, including applying a non approved paint coating, the warranty will be void.

We will offer our loyal customers a discount replacement frame if they are unlucky enough to be involved in an accident, even though it’s through no manufacturing fault. The frame may need to be inspected or proof of damage provided to qualify.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
